Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Puvvada Nayan Raj said that dedicating his birthday to community service gives him immense satisfaction. He noted that many patients continue to suffer from debilitating knee conditions because they cannot afford surgery. Expanding the programme under the leadership of Executive Director Mrs. Puvvada Aparna Raj, the hospital now provides financial assistance of ₹5,000 for the birth of a baby boy and ₹6,000 for the birth of a baby girl to eligible families. The initiative aims to support mothers during childbirth, promote maternal and child welfare, and encourage the birth of the girl child.

Former Transport Minister and Chairman of Mamata Educational Society, Puvvada Ajay Kumar, said that the Society has always believed that quality education and quality healthcare should be accessible to every deserving individual. He added that such community welfare initiatives will continue to be expanded in the coming years.

Dr. Brigadier P.S.K. Patel, Superintendent of MAMS Hospitals, said that the free knee replacement programme is being implemented in accordance with international standards. He stated that the hospital’s experienced orthopaedic surgeons, anaesthesia specialists, nursing staff and physiotherapy team work in close coordination to deliver high-quality patient care, and expressed pride in being part of an initiative that brings meaningful change to society.
