Maharaja Agrasen Hospital Advances Affordable Healthcare for EWS Patients, Strengthens Quality Care

Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Bengaluru has expanded its charitable healthcare initiatives while continuing to strengthen institutional quality standards and patient care systems. The hospital has focused on improving access to affordable and dependable healthcare services for economically weaker patients through structured medical support, subsidised treatment and community outreach.

Free Care for EWS Patients

Affordable healthcare remains one of the most urgent needs for economically weaker families, especially when even a basic consultation, medicines or follow-up treatment can push care out of common people reach, especially economically weaker section. At Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, this concern has been addressed through a structured charitable healthcare initiative since a year.

The hospital launched free consultations and free medicines for Economically Weaker Section patients in January 2025, taking a significant step towards improving access to essential healthcare services. Since the start of the initiative, the programme has covered more than 2,000 OPD patients, creating a practical support system for families that may otherwise delay or avoid treatment because of financial constraints.

Needy and economically identified patients are also being supported with low-cost dialysis and further treatment. This has helped the hospital move beyond first-contact care and establish a more comprehensive pathway for ongoing support, particularly when medical needs are recurring or more serious.

Community Outreach across the City

The charitable initiative has not remained limited to the hospital campus. Maharaja Agrasen Hospital has extended medical camps to locations including Gowdanpalya, Uttarahalli, Studio Layout, Padmanabhanagar, Chikkalasandra, Gummaya Layout, Subramanyapura Park, Simhadri Layout, Kadiranahalli and Kanaka Layout, taking basic healthcare closer to underserved communities.

These outreach camps covered 1,218 people in 2025 and have already reached 1,344 people so far in 2026. The scale of this outreach reflects a steady effort to combine preventive care, early screening and community trust through regular health access in neighbourhood settings.

“At the centre of this effort is a larger vision for affordable care. We would focus on extending our charitable healthcare activities and ensuring zero or low-cost healthcare accessibility and care through trust support, individual contributions and the CSR health segment in the near future. I also sincerely appreciate the constant support and guidance of President Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Secretary Shri Ratan Kumar Kandoi, trustees & board members along with Shri Ajay Mishra, CEO of Maharaja Agrasen Hospital & the entire medical and hospital staff whose commitment and dedication continue to drive this mission and help us reach thousands of people through quality and affordable healthcare services,” said Shri Bipin Ram Agarwal, Chairman of Charitable Activities, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Bengaluru.

Quality Standards and Expansion

Alongside its charitable healthcare work, Maharaja Agrasen Hospital, Bengaluru has also strengthened its institutional quality framework. The hospital was recommended by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers for Entry Level certification in July 2025, according to the NABH applicant status page, reflecting progress in patient safety and quality systems.

This recognition adds credibility to the hospital’s larger healthcare mission, where affordability is being paired with service quality and organised systems of care.

The next phase of the project is expected to focus on expanding support for critical care and additional medical assistance through trust-based support, individual giving and health-focused CSR funding building a model where charitable intent is matched by continuity of care, larger outreach and better treatment access for those who need it the most.
